The Kentucky Community and Technical College System has two colleges in the region: Hopkinsville Community College and West Kentucky Community Technical Colleges.

Murray State University has six colleges offering over 125 academic programs in Science Engineering and Technology, Agriculture, Healthcare, Business, Education and the Humanities and Arts. With a total enrollment of roughly 10,000, MSU is large enough to offer excellent programs and small enough to engage each student for success. The University of Kentucky, in collaboration with West Kentucky Community and Technical College, offers studies leading to bachelor’s degrees from UK in Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering programs, initiated in 1997, are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. They not only add to the range of opportunities for students but also meet the regional need for professional engineers in this highly industrialized part of the Commonwealth.

Hopkinsville Community College HCC) is a public community college in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. It is one of 16 two-year, open-admissions colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). Founded in 1965, HCC maintains a main campus in Hopkinsville and an off-site campus on the Fort Campbell Army base. HCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It offers Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees.

West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) is a public community college in Paducah, Kentucky. It is part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and was formed by the 2003 consolidation of Paducah Community College and West Kentucky Technical College. WKCTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
